Good day friends, clients, and business associates. I hope this finds you in good health, good spirit, and following CDC advisories. We're calling this Alabama Coasting in the New Reality... although its clear that what that new reality will be is yet to be determined. Everyone is scrambling to figure things out while trying to keep the doors open, protecting their loved ones, worrying about their friends, and - in a very positive show of community - supporting their local businesses. As part of this effort, folks are creating and sharing dozens of resource sites and special initiatives. We have a list of many of these on our website at Resources for the New Reality.

With the twin pillars of Alabama Coasting being tourism projects and "food sport" events, we know very well the uncertainty our clients and friends are feeling. However, we're moving forward (pivoting positively) in two new ways. First, in the next week, a special digital edition Discover Coastal Alabama magazine will be published. It will feature some of our favorite articles from past issues along with content from our Tourism partners. The goal is to share pieces of this wonderful world we live in and to gently remind all that soon it will be time to, as AC says:"Get busy living, y'all".

Our second initiative is joining with our partner at Bama-Q Productions to support and promote our food champs, chefs, restaurateurs and food producers. Over the next few weeks, we'll be rolling out a series of videos featuring Alabama chefs doing cooking demos with recipes that can be easily prepared at home with locally sourced products. In addition, we're jointly sponsoring a virtual food sport competition open to everyone. There will be a small entry fee and proceeds will be passed back to the food community. Details will be posted shortly on Alabamacoasting.com and Bama-Q TV
