Celebrating Five Years Promoting the Best of the Bay and Beyond

May 05, 2015

Last month, the Gulf Coast "celebrated" the 5 year anniversary of the BP oil spill. Well, we here at Alabama Coasting are celebrating a more positive milestone - as we begin our sixth year of showcasing our slice of the Gulf Coast to the hundreds of thousands of visitors and active locals that are looking for the best places to "Dine, Shop, Play, and Explore".

Here's a quick update on how we're making that happen:

Alabama Coasting Magazine – Our full-color, high-quality magazine, is published quarterly with information on art and culture; dining, entertainment and shopping; sports, recreation and the outdoors; and the "hidden jewels” that help create our very special coastal lifestyle. We're proud to support our lodging partners as the premier "in-room" magazine for the Alabama Gulf Coast as well as providing copies for your guest information areas, lobby "libraries” and for special groups and meetings. Alabama Coasting, through our network of partners, also produces specialty print pieces such as "hyper-local" event guides, programs and themed publications – an area that we’ll be expanding in the coming year.

Alabama Coasting.com and our Digital Community - We go mobile with the full digital magazine as well as our entire website accessible through smart phones and other browser-enabled devices. Alabama Coasting app is a free download for  all mobile devices and provides real time event and music calendars as well as geo-located directories to find the best places to Dine, Shop, Play and Explore. Most importantly, Alabama Coasting.com is a complete SEO website built to maximize internet traffic AND it is also fully mobilized for consistent display on every digital platform. Powered by our partner, DigiPro Media, Alabama Coasting is linked to an ever-expanding network of regional digital communities. Our marketing partners also gain valuable connectivity through the DigiPro suite of products. Directory listings, special event and promotions postings and the most efficient "new media” management tools in the marketplace (including email marketing and e-commerce) are offered through our bundled marketing solutions

Alabama Coasting Marketing Solutions - Through our unique position in the marketplace, our pool of talented professionals, and our years of industry experience, we have the ability to offer an independent, cost-effective platform of consulting services, project management, business development solutions and special event planning. We have been pleased to work with the Mobile Bay CVB, Eastern Shore Chamber, South Mobile County Tourism Authority, the Town of Dauphin Island, Bayou La Batre and a number of independent organizations doing good work along the Alabama Gulf Coast.

What’s up next for Alabama Coasting  - The next issue of Alabama Coasting Magazine will be out in just a few short weeks. Yes, it’s a little behind schedule - but it’s part of a process of retooling all of our resources to better serve our partners and our visitors to the Alabama Coast. Beginning with this issue, we’ll be expanding our content coverage to include more of the South Baldwin County and South Mobile County communities. We’re also adding tools to more effectively "link” our print pieces with our digital offerings. Included in this is a complete upgrade of our website and "app” tools – including a new LODGINGS directory to support all of our accommodations partners. We’ll send out more specifics on this new feature in the near future – along with a brief survey to ensure that we’re doing all we can to assist your success. Finally, in conjunction with distribution of our next issue and our resource updates, we’ll be hosting a series of Hospitality Industry receptions in various locales along the Alabama Coast. Stay tuned.

Finally, THANK YOU to all who have supported our efforts over these first five years. We really appreciate all of you and are committed and excited to continue to be the very best resource for the best of the Alabama Coast.
