Alabama Coasting - Run, Fun, Music & More

September 11, 2015

Beginning in 2011, as a living memorial to the heroes of 911, I was honored to be part of a team, led by Ed Murphy, that produced the Mobile Tunnel to Towers Run. The above American Flag image is a mural created by Scott LoBaido at USS Alabama Battleship Park in conjunction with our last event in 2013. This year, our neighbors to the west, introduce the inaugural Tunnel to Towers Biloxi 5k run and Walk. If you're looking for a unique way to commemorate the events of 911 and honor our First Responders - we highly recommend that you check this out. As an added benefit, the 34th annual Biloxi Seafood Festival is taking place a few blocks from the finish line.

Once again, Alabama Coasting is proud to support our friends at the Mobile Airport Authority and the 2nd edition of the Airbus 5K on the RunwayMore than 1000 people participated in the 5k, fun run and after party last year - and even more are expected this time around - as the day ends with a community celebration honoring the official dedication of Airbus manufacturing facility. Fun Run starts at 5:30pm; 5K at 6pm; followed by the post-race party and then fireworks and the Tip Tops to end the festivities. Online registration is still available through Friday.

Looking for a little live music to get your weekend started? Check out Lisa Mills LIVE at the Azalea Manor. She's filming a DVD so maybe you'll get a chance to go VIRAL! Click here for more details.

And, speaking of dates to remember - One of the most popular events on Dauphin Island returns on September 16th, as Ryan Balthrop and Friends join locals and visitors to celebrate a Sunday Sunset on West End Beach. The concert begins at 5:15pm and the sunset performs just after 7pm. Admission is a $10 donation to Save the Little Red School House. Bring lawn chairs, coolers, but no glass nor pets.

Go ahead and mark your calendars for Saturday, September 25th! It's the 2015 edition of Bayou La Batre's  Sample the bounty from the Seafood Capital of Alabama prepared by those who know it best. The food festivities are from 6-10pm at the Community Center.

And finally, Alabama Coasting is pleased to welcome some new talent to our team!  Christy Symes Raley has signed up to work for our clients and business partners as Sales and Account Manager. Her email address is [email protected] Welcome aboard!
